Privacy Policy
We believe your biological measurements, weight goals, and metabolic numbers are private health data that should never be commodified. MaintenanceCalorie is built from the ground up with a client-first, privacy-respecting architecture.
1. Scope & Privacy Philosophy
This Privacy Policy applies to the MaintenanceCalorie website located at MaintenanceCalorie.com and all related calculators, tools, and documentation. This policy describes our principles regarding the non-collection, processing, and browser-level handling of user inputs.
Unlike conventional fitness apps that force account registration and synchronize private health measurements to cloud databases, MaintenanceCalorie operates as a stateless web application. Our philosophical commitment is straightforward: we do not want your personal health data, and our code is designed not to capture it.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
When you use our Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) calculator, Macronutrient calculator, or Ideal Body Weight tool, you may enter various parameters:
- Biological sex and age
- Body weight and height
- Estimated body fat percentage
- Daily occupational and exercise activity habits
- Caloric surplus or deficit preferences
None of these inputs are ever sent to our servers. All computational mathematical models (Mifflin-St Jeor, Katch-McArdle, Harris-Benedict, Devine, Robinson, Miller, Hamwi) run synchronously inside client-side JavaScript executing in your web browser.
3. Information Stored Locally in Your Browser
To enhance convenience, MaintenanceCalorie offers an optional calculation bookmarking feature (“Calculation History”) and light/dark theme preference toggling.
These items are persisted exclusively using your web browser’s HTML5 window.localStorage:
tdee_history: An array of your recently bookmarked calculations, including timestamp, input metrics, and calculated TDEE results.theme: Your interface aesthetic preference (light, dark, orsystem).
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to other domains or websites.
4. Infrastructure & Server Telemetry
Like all standard web servers, our hosting infrastructure automatically collects transient, non-identifiable technical logs necessary to deliver web pages, protect against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, and maintain network reliability. These automated logs may include:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address
- Browser user-agent string and operating system
- Request timestamps and referring URLs
- HTTP status response codes
These server logs are never linked to any personal biometric measurements or user identities.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
MaintenanceCalorie does not deploy intrusive cross-site tracking cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or advertising beacons (such as Meta Pixel or third-party retargeting tags).
We rely on modern web storage standards (localStorage) solely for UI state persistence as described in Section 3.
6. Third-Party Hosting & CDN
Our static web pages and assets are distributed via high-performance cloud networks and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to ensure fast global page load times. These providers operate under stringent data protection regulations (such as SOC2, ISO 27001, and GDPR) and process requests solely as data processors for network transmission.
7. Data Erasure & User Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), individuals hold rights regarding access to and erasure of their personal data.
Because MaintenanceCalorie does not store or process personal biometric records on any central server, you exercise complete self-service data erasure at any second by:
- Clicking “Clear all” inside the calculation History drawer in the top navigation bar.
- Clearing cookies and website site data for this domain in your browser settings.
8. Children’s Privacy Protection (COPPA)
MaintenanceCalorie does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from individuals under the age of 13. Our calculators are intended for general adult audience informational use. If you believe a child has provided personal data through our contact forms, please contact us immediately so we may delete it.
9. Policy Modifications & Inquiries
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect enhancements to our tools or regulatory developments. Any revisions will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
If you have questions or inquiries regarding our privacy practices, please contact us via our Contact page or email us at support@maintenancecalorie.com.
